Edilberto Evangelista (1862 - 1897) was a civil engineer trained in University of Ghent, Belgium. He returned to the Philippines shortly after the start of the revolution and quickly rose to the rank of Lt. Gen in the Philippine Army. He died on February 17, 1897 at the Battle of Zapote Bridge.
