ROSEMEAD – EdisonInternational on Tuesday posted a loss of $2.5 billion for the fourth quarter of 2000 due to a charge related to the impact of the California energy crisis on subsidiary Southern California Edison.
Excluding the writeoff, EdisonInternational lost $28 million in the last three months of 2000 in contrast to earnings of $96 million for the fourth quarter of 1999.
EdisonInternational shares were off 9 cents a share at $11.76 in morning trading Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
