Eduardo Chibás (1907-1951) was a Cuban anti-communist politician who used radio to broadcast his political views to the public. His primary message was to denounce corruption which was rampant in his time. He was very popular and was widely belived he would have won the 1952 presidential elections if Batista had not taken the government by force. He is considered to be one of Castro's early mentors but his name is not mentioned in today's Cuba because he was strongly anti-communist.
