Eduardo Rodríguez Veltzé (born March 2, 1956) is the current president of the transitional government of Bolivia. Formerly the head of the Bolivian Supreme Court, a political crisis caused by the nationalization of the gas industry arose, which led to the forced resignation of former president Carlos Mesa. After Hormando Vaca Diez and Mario Cossío, presidents of the Senate and Congress, respectively, also resigned, Rodríguez was elected by Congress on June 9th, 2005 as the country's new president.
