Primary and Secondary Education

The spread of formal Quranic school in Senegal (called daara in Wolof) during the colonial period increased largely through the effort of the Tijaniyya, the main Sufi orders in charge of the Islamic community. Foreign Exchange

Various Universities in places like France and the United States offer foreign exchange trips to Senegal, especially to Cheikh Anta Diop University, due to the interesting blend of French and African culture and language.


Senecorps

Senecorps is a project-based experience in Senegal's capital, Dakar. Participants study Wolof and hear lectures by professors, as well as other acitivities in culture, religion, and language. One can also volunteer, teach English courses, and earn college credit.
