According the a ministrial statistic conducted in September 2005, there is 2267 schools in general education, 31001 classes, 1078488 students, and 48674 teachers in the Palestinian territories. 24% of schools are UNRWA-operated, 70% are governmental, and 6% are private. Another statistic conducted in May 2005 shows that there are 138139 students enrolled in Higher Education Institutions.
