Edwalton is the location of Nottinghams most expensive real estate, with roads such as Melton Road, Croft Road and Village Street containing some fine examples.

The Edwalton Hall is the largest property in the suburb, and is now a complex of exclusive mews houses and appartments. Origionally being a private residence owned by the Chaworth family, it later became a hotel and restaurant before being developed by Crosby Homes. The complex includies a gym , swimming pool and croquet lawn. It has been suggested that Suburbia be merged into this article or section. ...

Edwalton is also the location of the only council estate in the West Bridgford area, although many homes are now owner occupier and retail and high levels. Edwalton is varied in architectual characteristcs. Landmark individually designed houses are common place on many of the roads, but much of the area is new built housing estate, constructed through the 80's 90's and to the present day.

The suburb has a primary school, church, various shopping areas aswell as golf course and garden centre. The offical boundaries of Edwalton are sometimes debated, and few people know exactly where Edwalton, and West Bridgford actually start and finish.

Ever since the marriage of heir to Musters estate (West Bridgfords landowners) and daughter of the Chaworth family (Edwalton landowners) the suburbs of West Bridgford and Edwalton have been joined, under the formation of the WEST BRIDGFORD URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIl, which is now dissolved and part of Rushcliffe Borough Council
