Edward Hallowell (1808 - 1860) was an American physician and herpetologist.


He studied medicine in Philadelphia, where he practised, too.


He also was a renowned herpetologist who described 55 new species of reptiles.

Edward M. Hallowell, M.D. Edward (Ned) Hallowell, M.D., is a child and adult psychiatrist and the founder of The Hallowell Center for Cognitive and Emotional Health in Concord, MA.
Hallowell has also completed a program on managing worry for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) that was shown on PBS stations around the country all throughout 1999.
Dr. Hallowell discusses a variety of non-medical interventions, such as EMDR and selected cognitive therapy techniques that have been found particularly useful in reducing chronic worry.
