Egg Harbor is a village located in Door County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 250. The village is located within the Town of Egg Harbor.

Geography

Egg Harbor is located at 45°2'57" North, 87°17'51" West (45.049304, -87.297725)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.0 km² (1.9 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 250 people, 132 households, and 78 families residing in the village. The population density is 50.0/km² (129.6/mi²). There are 568 housing units at an average density of 113.6/km² (294.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.80% White, 0.40% Black or African American, 0.80% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 132 households out of which 12.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.3% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.2% are non-families. 37.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.89 and the average family size is 2.42.

In the village the population is spread out with 10.0% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 18.4% from 25 to 44, 36.8% from 45 to 64, and 30.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 55 years. For every 100 females there are 74.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 74.4 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $41,667, and the median income for a family is $73,750. Males have a median income of $35,500 versus $35,357 for females. The per capita income for the village is $41,977. 2.9% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
