Eggman Nega (ドクター・エッグマン, Egguman Negau) is a video game character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a human scientist and is either Doctor Eggman's dimensional counterpart or his descendant from the future. Eggman Nega is the third most featured villain in the series, behind Metal Sonic and Dr. Eggman himself. Sonic Rush

Eggman Nega is one of the main villains in Sonic Rush. He is introduced as Doctor Eggman's counterpart from another dimension, and the primary nemesis of Blaze the Cat, a character from his world. He is more cruel and calculating than the Eggman from Sonic's time zone, and has sent Blaze's world into ruin, which is why she sets out for the Sol Emeralds. He is eerily polite for such a cold and calculating man. His downside, however, is that he can sometimes lose track of important details while making unnecessary speeches. His design appears reminiscent to the older Eggman from the Genesis Sonic games, albeit with the colors reversed. While Eggman himself is first thought to be the primary antagonist in Sonic Rivals, Eggman Nega has captured Eggman and is disguising himself as him. According to the Sonic Rivals franchise, Eggman Nega is from the future and that he is Eggman's descendant. Using a special camera, he turns several objects and characters into cards, with the objective of turning the world into a card that he will be able to control. During the somewhat ambiguous ending of the game, Nega is captured inside a card of his own by Silver, yet it was never revealed how he returned to the future. It is also revealed that Nega is even more cruel and evil than the original Eggman. When defeated by Super Sonic and Burning Blaze, he attempts to fire a "Planet-Buster Laser" in a last ditch effort. The attack however, is thwarted by Marine the Raccoon, and both Eggmen are defeated. Sonic Rivals 2

Eggman Nega is once again masquerading as Eggman in the sequel to Sonic Rivals. He is only recognized by Silver the Hedgehog and Espio the Chameleon as well as Shadow the Hedgehog and Metal Sonic. He has stolen many of the Chao with the goal of feeding them to an inter dimensional beast called the Ifrit. Upon eating the Chao alive, the Ifrit will become invincible and wield power to destroy the world. However, to open the portal to Ifrit's dimesion, Eggman Nega needs the seven Chaos Emeralds, and hired Rouge the Bat to collect them. To aid her, he has stolen the Master Emerald and placed it in an Emerld Dector; causing Knuckles the Echidna to get invovled as well. Sonic Rivals 2 is the sequel to Sonic Rivals, developed by Backbone Entertainment, exclusively for the Playstation Portable handheld videogame console. ... Eggman Nega's plans are thwarted once again as Sonic and Tails rescue half of the Chao and Silver and Espio hide the other half. In addition, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Silver and Espio all destroy the Ifrit (despite it possessing Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Rouge). Shadow and Metal Sonic close the portal of Ifrit's world, and Eggman Nega is left there trapped under rubble. It is in this game that Nega reveals his personal Metal Sonic copy, Metal Sonic version 3.0.

Storyline Confusion

It is not perfectly clear what connection Eggman Nega has to the original Dr Eggman. The Sonic Rush series depicts him as Eggman's dimensional counterpart while Sonic Rivals portrays him as Eggman's descendant from in the future. The game Sonic the Hedgehog confuses the matter even more. Eggman Nega does not appear at any point, but his enemy, Blaze the Cat does. Blaze has also variously been depicted as both from the future and another dimension. Eggman Nega also is an enemy of Silver The Hedgehog as well, who is from the future but is not mentioned in the Sonic Rush series. Sonic Rivals 2 makes no mention of Nega's origin altogether. Additionally, Blaze the Cat is not seen in Sonic Rivals or it's sequel, leaving Eggman Nega's (as well as Blaze's) status a mystery. Interactions with other Characters

Eggman Nega's ally is Dr. Eggman. The two worked together in Sonic Rush. This is possible because they both have the same goal of ruling the world. However in Sonic Rivals Nega turns on Eggman, by turning him into a card. Eggman later helps Shadow and Silver to stop Nega. However in Sonic Rush Adventure, they work together again at the end of the game to try and defeat Burning Blaze and Super Sonic. Sonic Rivals 2 once again has Eggman Nega working against Eggman, as he is trying to destroy the world by powering an inter dimensional monster. As there is no concrete statement that the Rush and Rivals games are ignoring each other, the status of Eggman's and Eggman Nega's relationship is left as a series plothole. One of Eggman Nega's main foes is Blaze the Cat, who guards the Sol Emeralds. They are both from the same world and it is suggested that Eggman Nega is the equivalent of Sonic's Dr. Eggman. Much to his amusement, Blaze loses her composure easily with him, as shown at the end of Sonic Rush Adventure when Nega threatens to destroy her kingdom.

Another one of Eggman Nega's foes is Silver the Hedgehog. In Sonic Rivals, it is revealed that the two are enemies, and Silver is one of the few characters in the game that knows that Nega is actually disguising himself as Eggman. Silver battled Eggman Nega, however Nega's device malfunctioned, and he himself was turned into a card.

In Sonic Rush, Sonic becomes enemies with Eggman Nega, chasing him through each zone, trying to find out who he is and whats going on. Nega hasn't really talked to Sonic much, just to introduce himself at the start of Sonic Rush, and at the end of Sonic Rush Adventure when the two Eggmen appear at the end.

Eggman Nega also had a temporarily ally in Metal Sonic. It is unexplained why Metal Sonic worked with Eggman Nega, but the alliance ended after Sonic Rivals. In Sonic Rivals 2, not only are Metal Sonic and Eggman Nega enemies, but Nega provides Metal Sonic with his own personal rival. Apparently upgrading Metal Sonic's design, Eggman Nega created Metal Sonic version 3.0. This Metal Sonic copy looks exactly like the original Metal Sonic, but has a black and yellow color scheme, similar to G-Mel of Sonic Advance 3.
