She is born in Bekoji as the third child of six, her cousin is the double olympic goldmedailwinner (1992 und 2000) Derartu Tulu. Her seize is 1,60 m and her weight 46 kg. Ejegayehu, the younger sister of Tirunesh, is the third athlete in view and the medals were won as the above picture depicts.
The inset photo shows the four Ethiopians bunched together at the bell, with Ejegayehu tucked in behind sister Tirunesh (204).
It was the second bronze that Ejegayehu won at the Championships, having won the 10000m bronze a week earlier.
