Elan 2005
Elan 2005

Elan (born Elan Sara DeFan the 1st of March 1983, Guadalajara Mexico) is known for being one of the most successful independent Latin artists of the moment. She landed a few years ago in the fertile musical landscape of Southern California and quickly made a name for herself by being the first internationally successful Latin American independent artist as well as the first female Latina to begin her career with an English language album written completely on her own.Elan had an immense success with her debut album Street Child. Upon its release to Mexican radio, Midnight the first single for Street Child debuted #1 in airplay for most Mexican territories and stayed there for 21 weeks without relinquishing its position. Elan fans brought down 3 national servers in Mexico with e-mail requests for the song Midnight. On MTV Latin America, Elan's video for Midnight went to the Top 10 Most Wanted and went Top 10 on the Top 20 Countdown. In 2003 Elan’s first single Midnight was the second most added song to Australian radio in its first week (second only to Eminem). The song debut at number seven on the charts. On MTV Australia Midnight went to the Top Ten most requested and also went to #10 on the "Top 30 Countdown". Street Child featured guest appearances by Grammy Award Winning guitarist Slash (Velvet Revolver & Guns N' Roses), Grammy Award Winner and Beck producer Brian Paulson, David Immergluck of The Counting Crows, legendary Mexican composer/arranger and former Herb Alpert, Paul Anka musical director and Latin Grammy Nominee Eugenio Toussaint, Alan Weatherhead of Sparklehorse and mixed by Grammy Award Winning engineer Jeff "The Pirate" Poe (Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Madonna, Santana). Elan reveals an assortment of music that has been said by many to be a kind of semblance of Bob Dylan,Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Melissa Etheridge, Bonnie Raitt, Martina McBride, Cat Stevens and a few other notable influences. Elan released her highly anticipated second album London Express in 2005, after the immense success she had with Street Child. She’s currently promoting her first single Be Free, from which the video has been released in MTVLA to all Latin America. London Express finds its roots in the music of The Beatles, which Elan has described as "the only band that really changed everything." Elan has adopted rhythmic patterns and textures and recording techniques from the British Invasion of the 1960s and crafted her own tribute to British rock, yet stamped with her own unique signature and poetry. Once the driver is ensconced in his Elan, it's as practical and enjoyable a means of transportation as any (it is, in fact, kind of a stylish, comfortable Mini-Cooper), but the car does have its limitations, mostly self-imposed.
The Elan gives away something in styling to several of its competitors; something in performance to others and something in luxury to all of them.
Against this, the Elan has the Lotus name and all the right specifications which makes it a sports car that does everything a sports car is supposed to do.
