The Elastico, Flip Flap, or Ronaldinho (after a much watched advert when he performed it), is a football skill invented by 1970s Brazillian footballer Rivelino. In recent times, it has been learned by Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Juventus and Sweden, and Ronaldinho of Barcelona and Brazil. He was taught it by Sergio Echigo in Corinthians.The skill consists of flicking the ball up with the outside foot, then quickly cushioning it with the instep of the same foot, wrongfooting the defender who reacts to the inital contact.
