Voters in Ohio, as in other U.S. states elect a certain number of representatives to the United States House of Representatives. The following chart shows the results of the elections for the 24th congressional district of Ohio, which was created for the 1966 election (after the banning of at-large seats by the Voting Rights Act of 1964) eliminated in the redistricting following the 1970 census. Bold type indicates victor. Italic type indicates incumbent.

  • Redistricting following the 1970 census eliminated the 24th district. Powell was moved from the 24th district to the eighth district from which he was re-elected in 1972.
