Electrical power is generated in many locations and created by various technologies in the form of alternating current. This power is commonly delivered to homes and businesses through an electrical distribution system. When the power is needed, the various suppliers or utilities may have more or less than they need. The individual supplier distribution systems are interconncected into an electrical power grid so that power can be bought and resold by the participating utilities to meet the demands of their customers.
Electric industry reregulation: The design and implementation of regulatory practices to be applied to the remaining traditional utilities after the electricpower industry has been restructured.
Electricpower is measured by capacity and is commonly expressed in megawatts (MW).
Electricity paid by household: The household paid the electric utility company directly for all household uses of electricity (such as water heating, space heating, air-conditioning, cooking, lighting, and operating appliances.) Bills paid by a third party are not counted as paid by the household.
