History

Elefant Traks was created in 1998 when some of the currently signed artists got together to create an original mix-tape of music for a mutual friends going away present. They then compilied an official compliation album, Cursive Writing followed by another Food to Eat Music By and the label was born. The label started out as a mainly underground label but rapidly grew to a more well known independant music label. The Herd are an Australian hip hop group consisting of all the original founders of the label and all members of this group participate in the day to day running of the business. The Herd are a well known hip hop group in Australia, recieving a lot of airplay on Triple J radio and they have also released 3 albums to date.
