Elizabeth Bain, a university student in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, disappeared and was presumed murdered on June 19, 1990. Her car was later discovered with a bloodstain in the backseat, but her body was never found. Bain's boyfriend, Robert Baltovich, was convicted of her murder on March 31, 1992; however, his conviction was set aside 12 years later, when a judge determined that there were serious problems with the original investigation and case.
