After finishing high school in Birmingham, England, she began her career as a model in 2000, and appeared in the movie I Do. On October 6, 2006, Koon was invited to a Moon Festival promotional activity. During the public party, a male fan was invited onto the stage by a host. While Ella was listening closely, the 24 year old male fan grabbed Koon's neck and tried to kiss her. ^[1] Immediately thereafter, the host and on-site security immediately proceeded to remove the male fan from Koon and the premises. Red markings were very visible on Ella's neck.^[2] Later on that same evening, Koon along with her assistant spent over two hours at at the local police station filing a police report.
