Early life

Mary Elle Fanning was born in Conyers, Georgia in Rockdale County, Georgia on April 9th, 1998. She is a younger sister of award-winning actress Dakota Fanning and goes by her middle name "Elle" just like her older sister[1]. She is the daughter of Joy (née Arrington), who was a waitress at the Bob's Big Boy in Pasadena, and Steve J. Fanning, who played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, who now works as an electronics salesman at the Radio Shack in Los Angeles. Her maternal grandfather is American football player Rick Arrington and her aunt is ESPN reporter Jill Arrington[2]. Fanning is of half German and Irish descent as well.
