Ellen Parker (born September 19, 1958) is a Canadian educator, homemaker, and activist, who has made Camrose, AB. her home since 1985 (www.ndp.ca/ellenparker). She has worked as a further education coordinator for Camrose and area, a schools resource person for Camrose International Institute (for which she now serves as board member), and a school teacher. She has also been an avid supporter of Canada World Youth exchanges and was a founding member of the former Camrose Waste Reduction Action Committee. As a global educator and activist, Parker has participated in various campaigns having to do with fair trade, gender equality, aboriginal rights, peace and international debt cancellation. She ran as the federal NDP candidate for Crowfoot riding in June 2004 Federal Election. She acted as official agent for Clay Lawson, the provincial NDP candidate for Wetaskiwin-Camrose in the November 2004 Provincial Election and serves as the NDP provincial assoc. secretary for that constituency.
