Ellenbrook is a planned community, and is being developed in phases called "villages". Woodlake Village was the first village to start construction, with the first home completed in 1995.

Villages

Currently, there are six villages. The first, Woodlake Village is also currently the largest. It was followed by The Bridges, Coolamon, Morgan Fields and Charlotte's Vineyard. Malvern Springs is the sixth village and was recently opened.

The villages surround a town centre with shopping and entertainment attractions. The development of the town centre is in its early stages, but already contains the largest Woolworths in the state. [1]

Ellenbrook's land developers claim that by the year 2012, the seven villages will support a community of 30,000 people. [2]

Primary Education

Ellenbrook has four primary schools, located in the Wooklake and Coolamon villages.

Senior and Tertiary Education

Ellenbrook contains two High Schools, Ellenbrook Christian College which caters for students from Kindergarten to year 12; and Ellenbrook Secondary College currently serving years 7 to 9 with plans for year 10 in 2008.

Solar efficient housing is a way to cool and warm houses using less energy by utilising materials that contribute towards the heating and cooling of the house and positioning of houses to utilise the benefits of the summer and winter sun.
Coolamon is Ellenbrook's third village and was planned during 1999 to be a contemporary Australian village in anticipation of the new millennium and the world focus on the Sydney Olympics.
