ElliotMorley was the first minister to back WWF's One Million Sustainable Homes campaign and he's a strong believer that consumption and emissions reductions begin at home.
As chairman of the Green Ministers group, another of ElliotMorley's tasks is to build sustainability into the strategies of individual government departments and persuade them to improve their performance at all levels - economic, social and environmental.
ElliotMorley draws up a long list of further concerns, any of which could become general election issues - climate change, protection of our seas, reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, implementing a new environmentally-friendly agricultural programme, opening up the countryside and biodiversity protection, for example.
