Encyclopedia > Elliott (Pittsburgh)

Elliott is a small hilly community located in the West End area of the city of Pittsburgh. It is home to one of the most scenic views of the city of Pittsburgh. That area is known as the West End Overlook. The West End Overlook is one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets. It recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation.

Elliott was once a thriving community full of local businesses. That isn't the case anymore. The closing of several housing communities has brought in a lot of unsavory charachters into the neighborhood.

There is a very active community group called the West End Elliott Citizens Council, they are located on Chartiers Avenue in the neighborhood.

Elliott is surrounded by the communities of Sheraden, West End and Crafton Heights.

Elliott is located in city council district number two.
