Ellon today

Ellon has benefited from the North Sea oil boom, and like many other towns around Aberdeen, is one of the main dormiroy towns for Aberdeen. The population seems to know no limits, and as young families seek to escape the hustle and bustle of city life they leave Aberdeen and flock to places like Ellon, Inverurie and Banchory. A house that cost £100,000 in 1980 may only be within reach of millionaires today.
