Elsa was a female matron at two concentration camps in Nazi occupied Europe.


Elsa Rascher was born in Kirchberg, Austria on November 8, 1915. She became a female guard at Mauthausen sometime between September and November 1944. She was merely an Aufseherin, and later served at the Markkleeberg subcamp of Buchenwald. She fled the camp in April 1945, and has never been tried for war crimes.
