History of the Eminiar System

The Eminians have had spaceflight for at least several hundred years, but they rarely ventured from their home planet. At some point a group of Eminians colonized Vendikar (Eminiar III) - the third planet of their star system. Eventually, for reasons unknown, Vendikar and Eminiar VII became bitter enemies. Sometime in the latter half of the 18th century C.E., the two worlds went to war with each other.

For the next 500 years, the two worlds fought continually. They developed a system where the two parties fought their wars with specialized computer systems on both worlds. These computer systems fought a virtual war in which computers made lists of people killed. The people killed were ordered to report to disintegration machines - small chambers that people entered. These chambers would disintegrate people that stepped into these chambers. At the same time the machine would record the death to be sent on to the other planet. The average number of people killed was about three million.

In the 2220's the Federation starship USS Valiant visited Eminiar VII. They sent a report to the Federation on Eminiar VII, and indicated that the planet was at war with its closest neighbor. The crew and vessel became targets of the Vendikar computers, and were destroyed. It was assumed by Starfleet that the vessel had been lost in space. The 2267 Visit

The USS Enterprise visited Eminiar VII in 2267. Despite being sent a Code 710 - do not approach the planet - and Captain Kirk's grave misgivings, Federation Ambassador Robert Fox ordered Kirk to take the ship to Eminiar. Upon arrivial Kirk beamed down with Mr. Spock and a small security detachment. The group was taken to the High Council of Eminiar by Mea Three. During their inital meeting, the Vendikar computers launched an attack. One virtual casualty of this attack was the Enterprise - Eminiar's computers reported her destroyed by a tri-cobalt device. Anan Seven - the leader of the council - demanded that the crew of the Enterprise beam down so they could be taken to disintegration machines and killed. Mr. ...

Following this, Kirk's party was taken to a small lounge and held there. Mr. Spock was able to telepathically connect with a guard. The guard entered the lounge and was promptly knocked out by Captain Kirk. The party went to find more weapons and guard uniforms. They soon found a disintegration machine, which Kirk destroyed with an Eminian hand disruptor. Kirk stopped Mea Three from killing herself, and convinced her to help so that they could end the war.

Anan Seven made several attempts to trick the Enterprise crew to beam down to the planet. He first tried using a voice duplicator to mimic Captain Kirk and order Mr. Scott to beam the crew down. This failed when Scott analyzed the recording and found out it wasn't really Kirk. Then the Eminians fired on the Enterprise with disruptors, the ship's automatic defenses were too strong. Ambassador Fox then made contact, and was invited by Anan to visit the planet. Anan ordered his people to stop firing on the Enterprise, but ordered them to resume once the Enterprise dropped their shields. Fox ordered Mr. Scott to drop the shields, but Mr. Scott said he wouldn't do so until Kirk gave the order which wasn't likely since he was obviously being held prisoner. Montgomery Scott, usually known as Scotty, is a character in Star Trek: The Original Series, played by James Doohan. ...

Kirk was soon captured by Anon Seven, and taken to the council chamber. In the meantime Ambassador Fox and his aide beamed down. Anan Seven ordered his guards to take Fox and his aide to the nearest disintegration station. Mr. Spock contacted the Enterprise with orders that no one beamed down, only to learn that Fox had just beamed down. Spock and the party went to the disintegration station where guards were trying to force Fox into the chamber, and stopped the Eminians before they could kill the ambassador. Fox finally realizes that normal diplomacy will not work in this situation. He tells Spock that the Eminians have Kirk in the council chambers. A suicide booth is a fictional machine from the Futurama animated series. ...

When the council contacted the Enterprise to make their demands, Kirk rushed forward and shouted to Mr. Scott to carry out General Order 24 in two hours. This meant that the Enterprise would destroy the entire inhabited area of Eminiar VII in two hours. Kirk was able to overpower the guards in the council chamber. At that moment Spock arrives to find that Kirk has already freed himself. The Eminians are taken out into the hallway, an Eminian shows Kirk where they've hidden their weapons, and Kirk uses a phaser to destroy the computers conducting the war.

Kirk convinces Anan Seven to contact Vendikar. Ambassador Fox offers to help the two worlds find a settlement as well as to establish normal relations between the Federation and Eminiar VII.

Present Status

After the 2267 visit of the Enterprise the war between the two worlds finally ended. So far neither Vendikar or Eminiar VII have been featured in any future incarnation of Star Trek - either in television or Trek related novels.
