Incident

Around 11:06 PM, on January 11, 2006, a formal student, proposely formed a fire in the school, burning four classrooms and causing over one million dollars of total damage. The arson also sprayed one of the school with an insult to a person in the school. Although the fire burned the classrooms, the school tried to maintain a normal routine for the students with classes still goes on. Conselling was provided if needed to any children in the school.

A $25,000 reward was put to "information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the arson fire..." Of the $25,000, $12,000 was approved from the Police Department for any information for a suspected person(s) having anything to do with the fire. [2] Another $12,500 was provided from the Board's Special Reserve Fund. [3]

Everybody in the community helped to raise money to rebuild the school while portable classrooms were used in the time between. A local supermarket-ValuMart held some benefit fundraising, serving hot dogs, chips, etc. and use all the money earned to donate to the school. A local McDonald's let the school held a "McTeacher Night" on March 29, 2006, and donate 20% of the sales that night to the Emperor PTA Fire Relief Fund. Other community club like Kiwanis Club held a Pancake Breakfast on February 25, 2006 to donate the proceeds of the breakfast to the fire relief fund of Emperor PTA. McDonalds Corporation (NYSE: MCD) is the worlds largest chain of fast-food restaurants, primarily selling hamburgers, chicken, french fries, milkshakes and soft drinks. ...

People were shocked to hear this event because the school was a multi-awarding winning school so nobody believes that a former student would do such thing. The principal felt very stressed that a former student would start a fire to harm his old school and his hate against the school.
