| En Esch |
En Esch performing with Slick Idiot at Chief Ike's Mambo Room, Washington D.C. in May 2006 | | Background information | | Birth name | Nicklaus Schandelmaier | Associated acts | KMFDM, Pigface, Slick Idiot | En Esch (born Nicklaus Schandelmaier) is a contemporary musician and has been a member of the bands KMFDM, Pigface, and Slick Idiot. Sascha Konietzko claims to have given Esch his nickname because the latter felt that his real name was inappropriate for the stage. It is derived from the German pronunciation of the letters N. S. (Nicklaus Schandelmaier). Esch left KMFDM in 1999 and formed Slick Idiot with bandmate Günter Schulz. He has since begun working actively with Pigface again, joining them on tour in 2005. He currently resides in Berlin. In Summer 2007 he will replace Till Lindemann as the vocal of Rammstein, according to an official statement of the band.
