As Italy's largest supplier of electricity, Enel is a major importer of nuclear-generated electricity from France. During 2005 they moved to secure future supplies by investing in new nuclear capacity in France and Slovakia, and in the development of the EPR. European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) is a new fission nuclear reactor design, based on the pressurized water reactor or PWR. It has been designed and developed mainly by the Commissariat à lÉnergie Atomique in France and the Karlsruhe Research Center in Germany. ...
