Enhanced CDs and Multimedia CD Content. (373 words)
Enhanced CD content on your demo could spark enough interest at the record company to get your disc special attention, especially if it's better than what they get produced for their own artists (eg: More than just a free screensaver.).
In the past many enhanced CDs used the "Mixed Mode" standard, where the multimedia CD-ROM data would reside in track 1 of the disc, meaning that if the enhanced CD was played on a domestic CD player, playing track 1 would result in silence, or a blast of white noise.
Modern CD duplication houses use the "Blue Book" or "CD plus" standard for duplication runs of enhanced cds, under the "Blue Book" standard the CD-ROM content is put on the disc after the audio in a seperate session and is therefore never encountered when played on a domestic Hi-Fi.
