Enosburg is a town located in Franklin County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,788.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 126.2 km² (48.7 mi²). 125.8 km² (48.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.33% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 2,788 people, 1,058 households, and 727 families residing in the town. The population density is 22.2/km² (57.4/mi²). There are 1,149 housing units at an average density of 9.1/km² (23.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.80% White, 0.14% African American, 1.76% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 1.79% from two or more races. 0.72% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,058 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% are married couples living together, 9.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.2% are non-families. 24.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.11.
