Equal Rights (Līdztiesība) is a political party in Latvia, mainly supported by the Russian minority. In 1998, it joined with two other predominantly Russian parties, Latvian Socialist Party and National Harmony Party to found Par Cilvēka Tiesībām Vienotā Latvijā (For Human Rights in United Latvia) alliance. At the last legislative elections, 5 october 2002, the alliance won 18.9 % of popular vote and 25 out of 100 seats. The alliance partially broke in 2003, when the National Harmony Party and Latvian Socialist Party left it, but "Free Choice in People's Europe" joined. Par Cilvēka Tiesībām Vienotā Latvijā (abbreviated PCTVL, For Human Rights in United Latvia) is an alliance of several political parties in Latvia, supported mainly by Russian-speaking Latvians.
It supports Russian as a second official language in Latvia and requests to grant Latvian citizenship to all residents of Latvia.
PCTVL was established in May 1998 by three political parties: Tautas Saskaņas Partija (People's Harmony Party), Līdztiesība (Equal Rights) and Latvijas Sociālistiskā Partija (Socialist Party of Latvia), all of which were mainly supported by Russian-speaking voters.
