Encyclopedia > Erdal Inonu

Erdal Inonu is a Turkish physicist and politician. He is also the son of second president of Turkish Republic, Ismet Inonu. He was the leader of Social Democratic People's Party between 1983 and 1993 and served as the deputy prime minister between 1991 and 1993. He is currently a member of the Sabancı University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

He graduated from the Physics Department of the Ankara Univesity in 1947 and received 1951 his PhD from the California Institute of Technology.
