Erhai Lake is a lake in the Chinese province of Yunnan. The lake is famous for the special method of fishing used by people living on its shores: trained cormorants are used to catch fish and return them to the villagers.

The lake used to be a royal deer ranch for the Nanzhao Kingdom.
The lake is an important food source for the local people (Bais), who are famous for their fishing method: their trained cormorants catch fish and return them to fishmongers.
