Born to Armenian immigrants, Burdi came into contact with the white supremacist movement through the father of his then-girlfriend. He became an active white supremacist at 18 and was, by the age of 21, leader of the Canadian branch of the Church of the Creator. Using the pseudonym "Reverend George Eric Hawthorne" he formed the skinhead band RaHoWa in 1989. The band's name was derived from the phrase "Racial Holy War". Burdi was the founder president of Resistance Records, which was the distributor for his band and other white supremacist bands. The company also operated a web site and a magazine. Eric Robert Rudolph, also known as the Olympic Park Bomber (born September 19, 1966) is an American domestic terrorist who committed a series of bombings across the southern United States, which killed three people and injured at least 150 others.
Hawthorne had attended the Olympics with her daughter because she wanted to watch the American basketball team.
The Rudolph family supported Eric and believed he was innocent of all charges[4], but found themselves under intense questioning and surveillance.
