Eric Reginald Lubbock, 4th Baron Avebury (born 29 September 1928) is a Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords. He is a grandson of John Lubbock, 1st Baron Avebury. He studied Engineering Science at Balliol College, Oxford and, after a period in industry, he was Liberal MP for Orpington from 1962-70 and Liberal Chief Whip from 1963-70. He was Founder and Chairman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Group from 1976 to 1997 and is now the Vice-Chairman. He continues to work on human rights issues. He was elected to an Honorary Fellowship at Balliol College in 2004.
