The decision was made for her when she won the Fashion!Dallas Kim Dawson model search during her junior year in high school. From there, she landed jobs in local advertisements, and soon went on to bigger things. After appearing in ads for Gucci, she was involved in her first campaign for Dolce & Gabbana in 2002. In July of that year, Wasson signed a contract with makeup giant Maybelline, a contract which she still holds today. In 2006, Wasson worked on an advertising campaign for El Corte Inglés, and was promiently featured on the front cover and in a multi-page article in the February 2006 issue of Esquire (magazine).
