Landmarks Army Barracks Timor Barracks is just inside the northern boundary of Ermington, on the corner of Kissing Point Road and Stewart Street[11][12]. It is currently home to the 8th Command Support Regiment[13]. Previously it was home to the Eastern Region Command Signals Regiment[13]. The barracks used to be overlooked by a very tall antenna tower, providing communications for the army. The tower was pulled down some years ago. Today there is a mobile phone tower not too far from the site of the original army tower. The barracks opened on 17 February 1968, on the former site of the 2CH radio station transmitter. Today the 2CH transmitter is located across the Parramatta river from Ermington, at Homebush Bay. The area surrounding the transmitter was a market garden owned by Yates. | Navy Stores The Australian Navy used to have a storage depot on the northern bank of the Parramatta River, between Silverwater Road and Spurway Street. This area was covered with arch hangars made of corrugated iron. Presumably it was associated with the Navy munitions storage depot on the opposite bank of the river. The last of these Navy stores was burnt down in a fire that was deliberately started. Today the old Ermington Navy depot has been demolished and as of 2006 is a building site for waterfront apartments. Subiaco Creek Ermington is the watershed of the Subiaco Creek. The Creeks starts as runoff from the area containing Timor Barracks and Lottie Stewart Hospital. It enters a culvert and runs underneath Fremont Avenue at the bottom of the valley near house number 23. It then flows under an easement into Cowells Lane Reserve. "The Creek" (as it is called by locals) used to be mostly above ground, but as at 2006 has been mostly buried in a pipe. It surfaces again near the intersection of Stevens Street and Spurway Street.
Teddle Tree Teddle Tree is a Eucalyptus Tree situated between the Ermington Basketball Courts and Gregg St in George Kendall Reserve. It stands 10 m exactly and has become popular with the locals; In early 1999, an ensemble of instrumentalists started having monthly jam sessions underneath Teddle Tree which have since become famous amongst Ermington residence. These jam sessions had been the idea of James Ted (a local multi-instrumentalist), in which he enlisted help from friends and family to participate. The sessions came to an end in mid 2000 after Ted left Ermington to pursue a music career outside of Ermington. The Tree is now commonly referred after James Ted's nickname “Teddle.”

Sport and Recreation Ermington United Sports & Recreation Club The Ermington United Sports & Recreation Club was founded in Ermington 1957 and is predominantly based at George Kendell Riverside Park. The club has since been involved in a variety of sports and recreational activities. These include: Cricket, AFL, archery and boomerang throwing. Currently the club is only involved in Soccer, Netball and Tennis. [16]. 1st Ermington Scouts was founded in 1953[17][18]
Ermington Adolescent Recreational Service The Ermington Adolescent Recreational Service or E.A.R.S as it is commonly known as is a local youth group situated in Ermington. Founded in March of 2007, E.A.R.S is designed for youth in the age bracket 13-18 years. It started in effect to the growing amount of criminal behavior in the Ermington neighborhood in hopes to bring the youth of the suburb together for more wholesome activities. Some of these activities include: Scavenger Hunts, BBQ's, Sing alongs, Campfires and Cooking. E.A.R.S takes place on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm, the location usually changes every six months to encourage new members. These locations are mostly community centers and halls. Although small, E.A.R.S is steadily getting more popular.

Transport There are five Sydney bus routes that service Ermington. The 520/L20 travels to and from Parramatta Station to City and Circular Quay. The 523 travels via Spurway and Bartlett Streets in Ermington and on to West Ryde. The 524 services Melrose park stopping along Boronia St then at Ermington Shops.
