It offers education to boys aged between 11 and 18 as well as a co-educational sixth form. It has about 1100 pupils.


The school was named after Ernest Bevin (1881 - 1951), a British labour leader and politician. Ernest Bevin (9 March 1881 - 14 April 1951) was a British labour leader, politician, and statesman best known for his time as Minister of Labour in the war-time coalition government, and as Foreign Secretary in the post-war Labour government. ...


Ernest Bevin College has been a specialist college for Sport since 2000. As a consequence of improvement in academic achievement, the college was offered a second specialism in Mathematics and Computing in 2004.


An extension to the College sixth form is almost in completion and is due to open in time for the academic year 08/09. The proposed sixth form facilities have been said to be the most advanced in the South London area, which notably include a state of the art sports complex and a modernized gymnasium.
