The Erya (爾雅) is a Chinese dictionary from before the first century. It can also be considered as an encyclopedia on biological organisms, as it is a valuable document on historical biogeography. Erya literally means "Progress to Correctness", and has been translated as the Dictionary of Terms.


It's unknown as to who authored the book, although it is generally attributed to Confucius.
