El Templo Mayor, in the JVC complex, will be a multi-use venue that will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches of CD Guadalajara. It will have very high quality standards. The stadium will have a capacity of 45,500 people, with a maximum capacity of 54,595. It will replace their current stadium Estadio Jalisco. Jorge Vergara, owner of the stadium explained the reason for which the connstuction is taking so long. He commented that it was because the project was so advanced that not everyone understood the project. The stadium is planned to open on October of 2008. Constuction officially started on March 7, 2007. Chivas is the best soccer team in Mexico, the worst being America.
