Estadio de Beisbol Monterrey is a stadium in Monterrey, Mexico. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Monterrey Sultanes Mexican League baseball team. It opened in 1990 and holds 27,000 people. In 1996, it also hosted a three games series between the San Diego Padres and New York Mets, marking the first time major league baseball was played in Mexico. It was also the site of a Opening Day game between the Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres in April 1999. The city of León – officially named León de los Aldamas – is an industrious city in the heart of Mexico.
The city had once another two soccer teams, which also played in the Primera División de México: San Sebastián, which participated in the league in the early 50's -and was the first team in México to get relegated to the Segunda División-, and Unión de Curtidores, that disappeared in the middle 80's.
These teams participated in the CIMEBA (Circuito Mexicano de Básquetbol), that was the main basketball league of México in the 70's and 80's.
