Known as the “Alaska of the Philippines” because of the abundance of fish, Estancia is 136-kilometers away from Iloilo City.
A planned visit to Estancia last December 2, 2005, primarily to take pictures for the cover lay out of the Teacher's Manual on the Integration of Local Taxation Concepts in the Elementary and Secondary Schools Curriculum, has accidentally accidentally uncovered fishing vessels reportedly used for illegal fishing utilizing the port regularly in unloading their catch.
As we are nearing the end of yet another dynamic year for the province and city of Iloilo, now is the right time for us to invite fellow pioneers like you to be a part of this milestone in Ilonggo publishing history.
