The governments of the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao, however, do not distinguish between different Chinese ethnic groups. Please note that while pro-Chinese reunification proponents consider Taiwanese aborigines to be ethnic minorities in "China", pro-Taiwan independence proponents consider them to be ethnic groups outside of "China" and in Taiwan, exclusively.
