The majority disagrees again! (405 words)
The research shows that Bayan daily, which absorbed only three percent of the readers and ranked 16th among the newspapers before their closure, immediately jumped to the second best-selling daily after Hamshahri when the last remaining 2nd of Khordad publications (Sobh-e Emrooz and Mosharekat) were closed.
The readerships of Hamshahri, Iran and Ettelaat also increased by 7.5 percent, 2 percent and 1 percent respectively.
In order to measure the readers’ sensitivity towards the closure, they were asked, “Do you agree or disagree with the banning of the newspapers?” to which 73.3 percent gave a negative answer, 20.4 percent agreed, and the rest were indifferent.
