Synopsis
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. The team struggles to find out what's wrong with Foreman, as his condition deteriorates. Foreman has a visit from his father, with whom he has a strained relationship. Foreman's condition begins to deteriorate at a faster rate than Luria's causing House to suspect that the Legionnaire's helped slow down the unknown culprit. House then proceeds to purposely infect Foreman with Legionnaire's by shattering a glass vial of the disease in the seclusion chamber. House goes to the apartment once more, attempting to discover the cause of the disease, finding it, but not before Cameron (whom Foreman apologizes to before being placed in a comatose state) leads a team who performs a biopsy on Foreman, finding the same result, primary amoebic meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri. Foreman is cured, but his lobes appear to be crossed: when attempting to move his right arm, his left arm moves instead. Brain biopsy A biopsy (in Greek: bios = life and opsy = look/appearance) is a medical test involving the removal of cells or tissues for examination. ...
Binomial name Naegleria fowleri Carter (1970) Naegleria fowleri (pronounced //) is a free living amoeba typically found in warm fresh water, from 25-35 degrees Celsius in an amoeboid or temporary flagellate stage. ...
Quotes - Cuddy:You put both of them in isolation for a reason. Joe's death elevates the situation into a bio-safety level three.
- House: Oooh, level three. You should call Jack Bauer.
- Young Clinic Girl: (laughs) You're a goof!
- House: Takes one to know one, loser. Wait! That makes me a loser too, scratch that.
- Foreman's Father: My son says you're a manipulative bastard.
- House: It's a pet name. I call him Dr. Bling.
References This episode is extraordinarily similar to an episode of Medical Investigation where clients are getting sick while visiting a high class call girl. It turns out they were getting sick from the water sprinklers outside her apartment, which only came on in the afternoon. http://www.tv.com/medical-investigation/the-black-book/episode/397091/summary.html
