Encyclopedia > Eurafrasia

The supercontinent of Africa-Eurasia is the world's largest land mass and contains around 85% of its human population. Some geographers have referred to this continental grouping as Eurafrasia, although this term has never come into general use. Sometimes it has been also referred as the Great World Island. Another term is Old World, but this may also include Australasia.

Africa-Eurasia can be subdivided into Africa and Eurasia by drawing a line somewhere near the Suez Canal. Africa-Eurasia can be further divided into numerous subregions:

Africa

Europe

Asia
