Europa Nostra is a non-governmental organization in Europe which promotes the preservation and appreciation of cultural heritage. Since 1978 it has promoted the Europa Nostra Awards Scheme, a series of prizes for excellence in preservation and restoration.


In 2002 it was selected by the European Union to administer an EU prize series "for the promotion of excellence in heritage conservation practice", and these prizes, incorporated into the former scheme, are known as the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards.
