Evan Handler Speaker Profile at The Lavin Agency (468 words)
Handler was 24, and already an accomplished stage and film actor, when he was diagnosed and coldly informed -- by a sour doctor who reminded him of Richard Nixon -- that his chances for survival were almost nil.
Handler, one of the stars of HBO's Sex and the City (Harry Goldenblatt, husband to Kristin Davis), is also the author of a critically acclaimed memoir, Time On Fire: My Comedy of Terrors, ("Laceratingly funny and revealing" NY Times) which outlined his triumph over acute leukemia nearly twenty years ago.
Evan Handler is a thoughtful, provocative speaker, whose wide range of topics - often bold, but always inspirational - make him appropriate for nearly any event or group.
Evan Handler: Living Through It (275 words)
None the less, for anyone who has lived through a life-threatening illness, teetered on the brink of death, or held the hand of someone who pushed through the sting of recovery, Evan Handler is more than an actor, he is an inspiration.
Aside from bringing the world an amazing story of survival, Evan has proven to be a stand-out persona on stage, in film, and even on television.
Handler attended the Sundance Institute Screenwriter's Lab in 1998 with his screenplay adaptation of "Time On Fire", which is scheduled for production in 1999.
