Evans in 1762 the family removed to Uwchlan township, in the same county, and purchased land, three hundred and thirty-three acres of which are now owned by descendants.
Evans, was the father of Robert (2) Jones, whose daughter Sophia married Fred Burdette and became the mother of Robert Jones (3) Burdette, popularly known by his pen name of"Bob" Burdette.

Unlike other great maps of the period such as Mitchell’s or Popple’s, Evans’ work was based in no small part on the surveys of Evans himself and the first-hand reports of others.
It provided one of the earliest relatively accurate depictions of the trans-Appalachian region, while documenting French and British claims in a region destined to be the flashpoint of the French and Indian War.
