Pleasant Myers (Evans) Greene, was born in 1716, in Wales, and was of Caernarvonshire.
Evans in 1762 the family removed to Uwchlan township, in the same county, and purchased land, three hundred and thirty-three acres of which are now owned by descendants.

This distinguished map is a later edition of Lewis Evans’ distinguished “Map of the Middle British Colonies in America” (1755).
Unlike other great maps of the period such as Mitchell’s or Popple’s, Evans’ work was based in no small part on the surveys of Evans himself and the first-hand reports of others.
It provided one of the earliest relatively accurate depictions of the trans-Appalachian region, while documenting French and British claims in a region destined to be the flashpoint of the French and Indian War.
